The Clachan Project would not have been possible without the help of many individuals and organisations. The primary funder of the Clachan Project is the Heritage Lottery Fund. We would like to thank the officers of the Heritage fund for their continued support and advice throughout the duration of the project. In addition the support offered by the Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust has helped us to enhance elements of our School’s programme.
The success of the Clachan Project is owed to many individuals and families throughout the Glens and on Rathlin Island. These people have been generous enough to share their photographs, family documents, knowledge and memories with us and we are very grateful to everyone who has taken the time to contribute.
In supplementing local sources with information from official documentation we relied upon the resources of the local studies library in Ballymena and the Public Record Office. We are very grateful to the staff of both the local studies library and the Public Record Office for the considerable time and effort they have spent helping us to locate the census and valuation data displayed on this website.
In particular the project owes an immense debt of gratitude to Dr William Macafee. Throughout the project Dr Macafee has constantly been on hand to offer expertise, advice and encouragement and a great deal of his own time. With his command of history, geography and web design Dr Macafee has guided the Clachan Project from its beginning and has frequently pointed the way forward when we were faced with difficulties.
