Meeke and the Major on Friday 16th November at 8pm in St Mary’s Parish Centre, Cushendall.
Join us for an evening of reflection and shared history respectfully remembering key historical events from 100 years ago commemorating the end of WW1.
Featuring a local community performance set in 1917, it tell the story of Private John Meeke MM and Major William Redmond. It was during the Battle of Messines 1917 that the 16th (Irish) and the 36th (Ulster) Divisions fought and died together and since then, the story of Messines has had a positive influence in promoting good relations and peace building. Everyone is welcome to this free event.
