Mullinaskeagh

Mullinaskeagh clachan is located within the townland of Mullinaskeagh (parish of Layd), in Glenaballyeamon.

The photographs below show an aerial view of the clachan, a general view of the clachan and the individual buildings which make up the clachan area today. The aerial view was taken in the 1980s and the general view in 2002. The photograph numbers correspond to the numbers in the sketch map. Note that house number 5 on the aerial photograph has been demolished and replaced by the house shown in photo 5 below. You will also notice that most of the other houses in the clachan have had varying degrees of refurbishments since the 1980s and there are some changes in the outbuildings. Note also that the general view of the clachan (2002) was taken from the lane above the clachan which leads to the fields so you are seeing the back of house number 1, etc.

The links on the right of this page will provide you with more information on the people who occupied the clachan during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
