Broombeg clachan is located in the townland of Broombeg (parish of Ramoan) in Glentaisie.
The photographs below show the main buildings which make up the clachan area today. The photograph numbers correspond to the numbers in the sketch map.
The links on the right of this page will provide you with more information on the people who occupied the clachan during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Sorry, I see no photographs “below” of the clachan today nor do I see any links on the right. Would love to have this information as my family is from Broombeg, Ballycastle. Please advise. With gratitude. ~Maureen
My heartfelt appreciation to Brian O’Neill for providing the above photos in response to my inquiry about my family’s home in Broombeg. The McClarty family lived several generations there, intermarrying with the Kellys and Blacks from whom I am proudly descended. It’s lovely to see these photos. I wish I could turn back time and walk the hills with all my family. God bless you, Brian, and all who preserve history and so generously share it with others.
