CPC Ballycastle welcomes Glens of Antrim Historical Society

Year 10 students pay close attention during the recent Glens of Antrim Historical Society presentation.

Donnell O’Loan from the Glens of Antrim Historical Society spoke to Year 10 at Cross and Passion College, Ballycastle, recently about the work of the Society and the opportunities for students to submit an historical article for  publication in the annual society publication, The Glynns.  Donnell, a former Teacher of Science at Cross & Passion College informed students that the society, founded in 1965 is recognised as one of the foremost Historical Societies in Ireland. Donnell also discussed the goals of the society  – the study of the history, traditions and folklore of the Glens of Antrim and the preservation of historical knowledge and objects of historical interest in the local area.   Year 10 students can make an important contribution to this.
